About the Daley Center for Campus Ministry
The Daley Center for Campus Ministry opened in September 2023 thanks to the generosity of proud Cathedral alums C. Michael Daley ’54 and Janet Richards Daley ’55. The Daleys believe every scholar should be afforded a strong, faith-based education. Their hope is that the Daley Center enriches the spiritual and personal experiences of all Cathedral scholars and provides opportunities for growth, transformation, and renewal.
Retreats
Annual Grade Level Retreats
Each year, each scholar level embarks on a dedicated off-campus retreat for their grade level to reflect and grow as a community. Recent retreats have been hosted at exciting and beautiful locations such as Toah Nipi in Rindge, NH, Camp Hale in Sandwich, NH, and Ron Burton Training Village in Hubbardston, MA.
Additional Retreats
Beyond the annual grade-level retreat, scholars have the opportunity to participate in specialty retreats and reflection offerings, such as retreats to discern college and career choices, a Lenten peer reflection series, and more!
Service
Our scholars are full of love and talents. Community service is an opportunity for our scholars to share their gifts and make a difference in the lives of others in Boston and beyond.
Local Service
We believe in the power and potential of all scholars to positively impact their local communities. Last year alone scholars collected clothing for shelters, prepared meals for the sick, sorted donations for food pantries, and more.
Beyond Boston
New in 2024! Camden, New Jersey Service Immersion Trip: Cathedral scholars traveled to the Romero Center in Camden, NJ for a weekend of service, reflection, and community.
Camp Sunshine: Cathedral scholars venture to Casco, ME to volunteer at Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
Spirituality
Our school is rooted in Gospel values including compassion, respect, and service – and students of all faiths are welcomed and appreciated at Cathedral High School.
Several times per year, we come together as a community for Mass. Our Mass celebrations are designed to engage scholars of all experiences and backgrounds of our richly diverse student body.
To foster a culture of inclusion, special Multicultural Masses are offered throughout the year, including Spanish language masses and a Black History Month mass.
Cathedral of the Holy Cross
Cathedral High School neighbors Boston’s spectacular Cathedral of the Holy Cross. Our community is blessed to be welcomed into the beautiful, historic space for Masses and celebrations.
Campus Ministry Student Leaders
Scholars are invited to join the Campus Ministry Student Leaders to help plan and execute Campus Ministry offerings, providing opportunities for scholars to gain leadership experience and bring student perspective.
“I went on a service immersion trip through the Daley Center for Campus Ministry to the Romero Center in Camden, NJ. Having the opportunity to leave campus, be exposed to real-world problems, and serve those who are less fortunate really taught me that I have the ability to make a difference in someone’s life. The whole trip centered on faith – even if you’re not Catholic, it showed us that God is there for us, and when we give back, we can be there for others, too.”
